The Tracker

Post by DD12 » 15:13 Tuesday 15th September 2020

Currently, the tracker is now showing the off-service journeys, and some times along these routes -- usually with the next intended service displayed ( - on the tracker).

I find that this adds a lot of interest, - especially for my interest in the way double-deckers are being used --

for example, - this week one is being inter-worked on the S5 and 144, and has just come from the Bromsgrove area, and down the M5 , ready to do the S5 again !

-- it should also help a keen enthusiast to construct a current "bus graph", but I won't try as this damned pandemic looks likely to cause more changes yet !!

Another example highlighted by the tracker is this use of 33405 --

after arriving at the Sixth Form College on the S23, it went via the A4440 Southern Link Road to Malvern to input onto the 44.

I'm a big fan of this kind of planning -- utilising vehicles after schools to input onto public services, -- supporting the timetabled frequency, - especially when the other vehicles on that route may well be bunched-up in Worcester's traffic jams ( - tidal flows into Worcester in the AM rush hour, and out of Worcester in the PM rush hour).

It hasn’t been traced in service here yet. Last trace was on the 11th Nov in Leicester (on a 14A)
It has been manually moved onto First Worcestershire’s fleet list as it has transferred (on paper anyway) She will still be at Stoke - for a repaint I would imagine...

I gather there has been some debate elsewhere on what "livery" it should receive as I gather it is still in the colours of Leicester City Transport. How about NBC Red with "Severnlink" branding ? Did any d/d's receive that livery ?? I can not remember !! ?? .

No deckers received Severnlink branding, as there were none operated at Worcester/Bromsgrove at the time, all deckers were gone from Severnlink territory towards the end of the 1970's. There were 3 ex-Trent deckers at Hereford with Wandaward branding. 6043 was at Evesham, but I don't recall it running with Wayfarer names (unless anyone knows otherwise).

I think that NBC red with Severnlink branding would look fantastic, especially at 33404 will be moving to pastures new shortly. Over to you Mr Eggleton.

Sadly, I would imagine the livery/paint scheme has already been decided by now & possibly in the paint shop already... We all hope for some sort of heritage livery, fingers crossed! :P

It was used in service in the Potteries yesterday (photo on facebook).

My GUESS is that it will be swopped with 67656 when that returns FROM WR after it's MOT.

That sounds a logical sequence of events. I guess as nothing otherwise mentioned that 32646 is in "standard" livery.
