66820 (MX05 CEJ)
66820 (MX05 CEJ)
This ex Leicester vehicle has reportedly been sat at Worcester depot since before lock-down.

Other examples that have left Leicester & moved elsewhere have apparently been converted to driver training buses.
So, does anybody know if 66820 is a candidate for driver trainer refurbishment? (Possibly to replace 60340)
Or is she just here for spares/disposal...

Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
Perhaps 15 year old premium Volvos like 66820 and its sisters should be considered for service in Worcester and the 17/18 year old cramped Citaros used for driver training?
Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
That would be more logical! But we know all too well that logic is not always applied when it comes down to these decisions
Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
The next question would be, "are the Citaros more reliable than Volvo B7RLE or vice versa?"
The Citaros operated from Evesham many years ago, inherited from Warwickshire(?) County Council, had a poor reputation and spent quite bit of time off the road. As a bystander, neither the Citaro or Volvo sound smooth entering Crowngate bus station or in Grange Avenue on the 37 route; both rattle loudly from suspension dampers.
Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
A chance was missed today as at least 4 Volvos turned up for fuel early afternoon. The only one that I got the number was 66901, they all had Diamond logos on the front and First South West legal lettering on the windscreen, obviously being transferred from Manchester to Devon or Somerset.
Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
They were 66901,66903,66909 and 66983, thought to be heading to First Bristol as trainersbmmoboy wrote: ↑18:57 Tuesday 11th August 2020A chance was missed today as at least 4 Volvos turned up for fuel early afternoon. Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
Two of them have turned up at Bridgwater. Of note is that 66983 was at Worcester for two periods in around 2007 and 2020
Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
Another four will be making the same journey sometime in the next 7 days.
Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
Any update on "CEJ" ??
Re: 66820 (MX05 CEJ)
It's up on a vehicle lift in the bodyshop area being worked on (probably by MechWR26)
