Flooding Feb. 2020

Post by DD12 » 21:40 Wednesday 26th February 2020

Unfortunately these floods must be costing FMR a fortune, with people walking (If they are able) or staying home (If they are able) !!
Yesterday there was even a serious crash that closed the A4440 Carrington bridge, therefore "buggering-up" the Bath Road and London Road, and Sidbury (even more, that is !).
Excellent, friendly First staff, in Saint Nicholas Street this afternoon.

A treat for me recently (due to the floods) was seeing a MIDLAND RED double decker (33404) travelling the wrong way up Bridge Street ( -- When was THAT last the norm ??)
Interesting workings this afternoon, according to the tracker, was a DD on the S51, - albeit 40 mins late ( - which was almost inevitable ! ), and a DD on the 363 to Upton, c.17.00, - which would have departed from the Saint Johns area, not the bus station.

P.S. There was a StreetLiteMax on the patch this afternoon -- 63379 possibly -- with it's "engine cover" open, so I guess it's here for Mechwr26 to sort-out ?!?!!

Good to see some excellent team work yesterday in St Nicholas Street WR in trying to sort out arrivals and departures with Crowngate closed. Also pleased to have an impromptu meeting there with Nigel E (masquerading as 'Controller??) and had an erudite discussion regarding air change vs electric change on Daimler Fleetline semi auto gearboxes. Had to break off because the X50 departed on time (and deposited passengers at Worcester Parkway).

According to the tracker, coach 20612 is on the X50, as I type -- --

I shall drive my car on a carefully chosen route to intercept it, and verify this !!

I must have just missed the both of you (which was lucky for you both :D )

On one of my final rides on an ex-Trent Fleetline, between Stratford and Evesham, the driver moaned to me that the gear-changer equipment was squirting hydraulic fluid over his trousers !!
-- As you don't mention "hydraulic" above Mr. 943KHA, when you have got a moment, could you tell me what type DRC545J had (if you know),

and what type does 6015 have, please ??
