30 to Dines Green operated once a day by Hereford.
Hi guys. Hopefully someone can clarify this. Did Hereford, garage not long before closure do one return journey on the 30 from Worcester to Dines Green in between a out and back 420 from / to Hereford?
I remember catching the 420 to Worcester and the driver changing the blind to a 30. It came up in conversation the other day and just wanted it confirmed or denied .

The last time I caught a 420 from Hereford to Worcester it changed to a 30 to Dines Green with same bus and driver. Know there was a return trip to Hereford later so presume it was a Hereford turn but do not know for certain.

And to piggy-back onto this question (sorry), did Hereford depot do any runs on the 44 back in the early 2000s back in the era that Kidderminster had the 144?
After the Worcester-Bromyard 317 was withdrawn there used to be a 4.40 from Worcester right through to Hereford with no matched bus in opposite direction - so assume a bus found its way over via Malvern. Recall that two buses would arrive from Hereford after this one left and one went back as 420 and one as 417.
The glory days of when there was a usable bus service!

Hereford depot defiantly ran at least one Service 44 journey into Worcester and somewhere on this site there is a photo to prove it. I can’t remember dates or times though.

I definetly remember this happening, as it often used an ex P&R Dart (the ones with the awful blue dash!)

Yes. The first 420 on weekdays ran over from Hereford, then changed to a 30 on arrival in order to stop the driver from being sat around for long periods of time being paid for doing nothing!!
During the mid 2000s Hereford also ran 3 trips a day on the 30 service by the driver who operated most of the 417 service that day.

Around late 2003 to early 2004, Hereford Depot operated the morning 879 Dyson Perrins school service. This then changed to a 44 to Worcester then a 420 to Hereford. In the afternoon a bus ran empty from Hereford to Malvern to run a 44 service to Worcester. This then changed to a 420 and ran back to Hereford.
The picture in question is me at the wheel of 67604 at Malvern Wells turning point waiting to run the afternoon journey
