Double Deckers
Re: Double Deckers
This is the one that appeared on the "full" 144 to Brum last Monday, and thanks to the notification from Matt.W, and checking the tracker, -- I see it did the early AM X50 every day on Monday to Friday.
With the daytime 44 being reduced from 4 per hour to 3, in a couple of weeks, perhaps one StreetDeck will permanently be doing other services. (They already get taken off the Malvern services whenever they are needed elsewhere, anyway).
-- a bit worrying to learn that the rear "promo" has been removed though -- that raises the spectre that we could lose 35157 (at least) although the MD was reported as saying we would keep the StreetDecks, so perhaps it's going to receive decoration etc. for the X50 ?

Re: Double Deckers
Thanks Dd12, i do hope we don't loose her. Although a theory i came up with is that she could possibly be receiving a new Malvern's livery soon which could be what the new mercs use aswell? This is unlikely but we can only hope
Re: Double Deckers
My thoughts are it could be earmarked for use on the new 45 service which is replacing the 44 between Worcester & County Hall. Maybe it will feature new branding for this? And maybe the 45 could extend to the Parkway which should be open before the end of the year?

I saw her running nis down tge a44 today and managed to get a picture
Re: Double Deckers
A treat for me today, was seeing two non-WR deckers at the depot.
One was 32627 ( - "a welcome return"), - in Potteries route 25 livery.
I don't know the identity of the other one, as I could only just see it ( - inside), but it's probably the one that Mechwr26 is working-on.
I guess that 32627 is also here for maintenance work, however this coming Saturday there should be a peak demand for DDs, -- -- the Victorian Fair service 910, the Rugby services, and some on the "full" 144 ( - because of the rail strike), -- --
so you never know, it might even see service ?!?!

Re: Double Deckers
32627 is at Worcester for repairs to a hole in the roof following an argument with a tree.
Re: Double Deckers
Thanks BMMO boy ! -- -- I shall not bother to look-out for it then !
A few years ago, when it was at WR, I was extremely lucky to ride it on the Worcester - Evesham service via Wyre Piddle and Fladbury ( - the 551, I believe) -- -- extremely rare use of a DD.
When it went around the houses at Drakes Broughton it received an almighty blow as it hit a tree branch ( - near the shops).
Amazingly, nothing broke, -- but it feels quite appropriate ( - to me), that WR is doing this repair !!
Re: Double Deckers
I've just seen on the tracker, that 32627 is being used on the 910, so I hope there isn't any trapped rainwater leaking into the upper deck !!
Also shown on the tracker, on the 910, are 3 StreetDecks from Leicester, and our coach 20611.
(That's the first time I've seen one of our coaches on the tracker, and so I assume it can be legally used on the Park + Ride),
Crowngate, and the Victorian Fayre might be worth a visit this afternoon !
