D9 5035 history

Post by Mikehunt9163 » 10:27 Tuesday 21st June 2022

In the history file for D9 5035 (which is now in preservation) there is a note that says it featured in a pop music video made by the group ‘ASWAD.’ Does anyone here know what the song or album was that it was made for? Several Aswad video clips have been found on You Tube but none featuring a BMMO D9.Any information would be appreciated.Thanks.

Mike

Some two or three years go there was a video on Youtube featuring an OT D9 with a band playing upstairs, complete with piano and rumoured to be in Herefordshire / Wales. The identity of the D9 was difficult because of its transcription from cine to video. It was found via a fairly obscure link by my good friend Llloyd Penfold, I'm searching for it!

I think it was something by The Style Council if I remember correctly, can't remember exactly the song though!

It was "Speak Like A Child" by The Style Council and was filmed around Jubilee Drive in the Malvern Hills.

Here is a link to the video:

Many years ago I visited bus breakers yard on the way to Stratford upon Avon with the great Bob Thorn and in the corner at the back of the place was a BMMO double decker which I was told was a D9. The place was called Smiths. We bought a Bedford coach of them which I fixed to Bobs bus which last a week until it died again
