Here is an additional selection of interesting buses and coaches, some preserved, some operational, attending The Buses Festival at Gaydon on 20 August 2017.

Thanks for posting those Tim. Your selection has a much wider range than mine, which tends to be limited to vehicles that have a Midland Red or First connection.

I have posted some of mine to the main website library so they can be found in "Latest Photographs" on the home page.

I was a very good day out. It was a great venue as there is a superb car museum which has expanded and changed since my last visit about 4-years ago. There were buses there too!

The highlight of the day for me had to be the grumpy old man shouting at us incoherently and waving his stick. Any idea who he was, Tim?

...... Great photo Adam ! ..... I would give it the title -
"The March of Old Father Tim(e)" !! :)

For me, it was a much better day out, because of the excellent car museum, and the fact that Gaydon isn't too far from Worcester.

I also "got lucky" with my chariot, green August scenery, and excellent company !

Thanks for the bus+coach photos Tim and Adam -
I find it interesting to see the vehicles "in the flesh", and then "re-view them" through photography ! :)

P.S. - Great new Home Page photo, Adam !!

More excellent photos, I'm only sorry that I was hamstrung by a family 'do' and was unable to attend.

These are my favourite shots of the bunch, I love the NX liveried Volvo, Wyvern Alizee & EOS and that last one, which I guess is some kind of rebuild of a Leopard by East Lancs?

The Buses Festival write up for well travelled DFP 492Y gives the following;

Vehicle Description - Dual-purpose Bus
1983 Leyland Tiger rebodied 2000 East Lancs Myllenium Hyline DP49F
Reg No - DFP 492Y
Livery/Operator - Yellow/Red, Cresta Coaches

New in May 1983 to Trimdon Motor Services of County Durham and registered BAJ 637Y with a Plaxton C49FT bodywork. Following several changes of registration it ended up with Andrews Sheffield Omnibus.

Aquired by Strathtay in September 1999 and rebodied by East Lancs, it returned to Service as Strathtay 427 in May 2000 with East Lancs Mylleniun Hyline DP49F bodywork. Based at Dundee for much of its new life. It was renumbered 25815 and painted into Stagecoach livery following their acquisition of the traction Group in 2006.

It was again reregistered DFP 492Y, it was sold to Wootons of Chesham in April 2008, subsequently passing to Cresta Coaches of Alresford, Hants in October 2014. It was purchased by the current owner in 2017 and the vehicle is still in Cresta Coaches livery.
