D9 spotted in Malvern

Post by AdamH » 14:29 Friday 7th April 2017

OK, not quite in Malvern, but D9 5399 was parked in the bus bay at Newland Church when I passed on a 44 earlier. Couldn't see anyone with it so I guess the crew were in the Swan having a pint!

I saw this whilst operating the 1300 144, and passed it on Droitwich Road. I was so shocked to see it that I forgot to see which vehicle it was, but I guessed that it was 5399, it had 144 on the destination and apart from the wedding ribbons on the front and the fact that the driver was wearing a beige summer coat with green lapels, it could have been the 1960/70's all over again. It was truly a beautiful sight and I think it is about time that a 144 re-enactment was staged!!

That would be a good publicity idea to promote the route.

How about a special running day for Sunday 10th September to link with the Birmingham Bus Bash?
