The weather was kind today Bank Holiday Monday 28 May 2018 and many of the Museum's favourites were giving rides to Birmingham and the other local destinations. I'll let you identify the following pictures.

Obviously not a bus, but a very interesting car on show was this beautifully restored 1930 Standard 10 Fabric Body saloon. I am old enough to remember seeing this type of motor still being used as daily transport in the early 1950s and wondered even then how that fabric stood up to the vagaries of British weather.

Last but by no means least, these Bristol vehicles were in use on local routes from the museum.

That Spectra is a handsome beast. Can't believe they're over 20 years old.

Alas I spent my Bank Holiday at work. As work goes, running the X99 between Worcester, Hereford and Hay-on-Wye is very nice, but on balance working a 417 in an S22 would have been better!

The day wasn’t a total loss though... Shortly after getting home I received a text from Wyvern Omnibus inviting me to dinner. An hour later I was picked up from near my home in Leopard 234 and taken for a meal at a nearby pub. Thanks guys. 👍

Somewhat jealous of Adam having a ride in 234, I often reflect that we should have had a Leopard saloon at Wythall. They do have a tendency to go like 'pooh off a shovel' (and have a delightful exhaust bark). Shame that their steelwork turned to brown powder at a goodly rate (and so did the BMMO own products).
