Apparently ONN 571P, Trent 571, Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R was delivered new 07/76 with ECW body and was badly damaged by a fire at Meadow Road, Derby garage in 07/76. It was rebodied by Willowbrook as H43/31F layout and re-entered service 11/77.

Can confer with Tim's notes, as a previous owner of ONN571P; I bought it straight out of service from Trent. With its 'tall' ratio diff' it could get up to 62mph but had a matching thirst! Its 'Wobblebrook' bodywork whilst looking good externally had several underlying defects........

Thanks 943KHA :)

(I have recently sent you a couple of "Private Messages" about one of the museums buses -- but they appear to be stuck in the "Out-Box",

I realise and understand that some of our Forum members may prefer to "turn-off" or block messages, but if you have not received an alert at the top of the forum "page" could you let me know please, as I may be doing something wrong !)

THANKS v.much.

Thanks DD12, have now worked out that I had two unopened messages! I've replied by email to you.
Regarding 5919 it had been in the ownership of of Robin Woodcock in Weymouth until his sad demise this summer. It has now been acquired by LTHT (Leicester Transport Heritage Trust) for continuing preservation (it had been offered to us at Wythall but S23's are already well represented and we cannot simply acquire everything, much as though I'd like a fleet of D9's!) .

Now back off my holiday so should be back to business as usual on the forum for me.

Tim, thanks for the photos. Obviously I was unable to make Showbus this year and although it was intended as a break from all things buses I did get to see some trollybuses working in regular service, which was a pleasant surprise.

JP, thanks for the update on 5919. I have updated the website database.

Adam.
