Here are some pictures of preserved Leicester City Transport, Midland Red and Potteries Motor Traction vehicles and current First Group buses on show at Donington Park Sunday 17 September 2017.

Great to see 5919 is still active !

- Is it based in southern England can anyone tell me ?

(and thanks Tim for all these photos - once again they make me wish I had attended !)

I have been asking around about its new owner, but drawn a blank so far. Noted that it is fitted with WS Wigston destination blind; as it only ever operated from Banbury, Malvern and Wellington garages is it safe to assume it is now based in Leicestershire?

Showbus 2017 was an interesting event, but I noticed that there were a goodly number of marked out entry parking spots not filled. Also that as far as I could tell, 5919 was the only BMMO built vehicle in attendance. Not only that but there seemed to a mere handful of exposed radiator half-cab buses and coaches at the show and I didn't see one Bristol L type single-decker or K type double-decker. I had hoped to make up for my mistake in missing the chance to photograph all the Barton vehicles at last year's event, but this year only one Barton coach attended. There didn't appear to be another rally that clashed with this venue, so some minor disappointment there.

Took a few grainy shots of aircraft coming in to land at East Midlands Airport as a consolation. Plenty of noise in the air and at the Donington race track to keep everyone awake in the afternoon!
