Once repainted it will move back to it's original home at Cheltenham depot, mainly because it can be kept indoors and protect the new paint, but also it is very appropriate. Therefore, assuming we are permitted to use it next season the route may be adjusted to start at Cheltenham rather than Stroud and running via Gloucester as we did this year.

Thanks Adam !

P.S. Did any of your routes get disrupted by the recent Flooding ?

Not personally, I got lucky!

On the Thursday when the rains really came down I was covering a school duty from Newent into the Forest. Normally this route is run by a regular school driver but he was away for personal reasons and as I still have a Herefordshire School card from when I worked the Much Marcle school for First I was asked to stand in. Even though that route (the 834) runs right through the heart of the Forest down some very narrow lanes it wasn't effected at all, bar a few big puddles. Meanwhile every other Forest route had to divert, some were getting back almost 2-hours late! The A40 was closed for several hours so you can imagine the chaos.

The next day I was back in Worcester to attend a driver's funeral. I arrived early and spent quite a lot of time sat in Crowngate canteen listening to their flood stories, or afterwards in a pub doing the same.

Saturday and Sunday were rest days and by the time I was back on Monday things were back to normal. Mostly. The 351 and 353 were still badly effected for almost a week, but I wasn't required to drive those routes so I ignored the problem! I have a day on the 351 tomorrow as rest-day work (they are actually classed as a "city" duty routes so I don't do them often) but I understand it's all open again now.

I'm trying to decide which Cheltenham route would be nicest to do on that - the more scenic ones from there were never traditionally CD routes were they?

Cheltenham is more or less a town service depot. They go to Tewkesbury on the 41-43 group, plus Gloucester on the 94, but that’s about it. This is the reason I went to Gloucester depot even though Cheltenham is closer to my home.
