The impressivly named Royal Motorways ceased trading in 1985 or 1986. Just to add spice to this thread I also recall the name Regent Motorways of Redditch. :geek:

Dudley's had one coach in a white, blue and red livery with that branding, I always assumed it was a company they had taken over or an old name from the local area.
I think you're correct that it was a company that Dudley's had taken over. There's a few photos on Flickr suggesting this such as the one below. There's also a few pics of a 12 plate Dudley's coach in the Royal Motorways livery.

This new company, Preston's Coaches Limited, (trading as Royal Motorways) is operating out of Dudley's old depot too. :D

Just had a look at there website: https://www.royalmotorways.co.uk/?fbcli ... Qu9hgsKVis

Dudley's had a second coach (Plaxton Panther - CR12 DCR) that also wore the Royal Motorways livery (as Matt pointed out) :D I'm not sure if this new company is operating it though...

I drove past the old Dudley's site last week and it still had a big sign with the Dudley's name. Didn't notice what, if any, vehicles were there... I was heading home from a car event and moving a bit too quick to look ;)

Noted the above Royal Motorways coach northbound on the M5 in Somerset this afternoon, unfortunately on suspended tow.....
Not what a new operator needed.

Prestons Coaches Limited is the "legal" name, and according to "Notices + Proceedings"
they have been granted permission now, to operate 12 vehicles !

Looks likely then they are successful in getting and retaining drivers, and maintaining the vehicles !!

There's been a whole host of Royal Motorways coaches travelling around the Comberton Road and Chester Road North area of Kidderminster this evening.

As it's near the railway station I was wondering if they were on Rail Replacement, but as there's none in the area today it's not that, so presumably some large private hire contract.
