Vale of Rheidol 17 August 2016.

If you enjoy being hauled by an immaculate steam locomotive working very hard up steep gradients then the narrow gauge Vale of Rheidol service between Aberystwyth and Devil's Bridge is a must, not cheap but well worth the money especially if you travel in the open sided coach shown in one of the pictures. The loud bark of the exhaust is accompanied by a face full of steam and smuts - a gricer's heaven! These photographs taken on 17 August 2016.

Lovely. I remember going on that line as a child, so sadly that's 30+ years ago now. Still so many of the 'Great Little Trains' I've not been on, but if you can stand it here's a picture of me on the footplate of 'Tom Rolt' on the Talyllyn in approximately 2006.
