What was it?

I'm not a train person so this may be an obvious question to some...
Sat at Hereford Rail Station waiting to operate the 1430 to Hay-on-Wye, and a very smart looking train made up of brown "Pullman" coaches passed through the station without stopping. There was a Diesel engine each end with "West Coast" on the side.
All looked very posh!

'Spirit of the Lakes' Pullman Train recently restored by West Coast Railways. It passed through Hereford today at 14-14 (according to Realtime Trains website) as empty coach stock from Bristol to Carnforth Steam Town. They run top and tail to avoid having to run round at terminus stations and when tours include a number of branch lines without run around facilities, making the set very flexible; a bit like a very long DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit). The motive power was probably Class 57 which is a modernised Class 47 locomotive with General Motors engine.
