60103 Flying Scotsman passes Bredicot

Post by TimBrown » 17:21 Friday 28th April 2023

Today, Friday 28 April 2023, saw LNER A3 Pacific locomotive 60103 'Flying Scotsman' with support coach passing Bredicot en route from York National Railway Museum to Bristol St. Philips Marsh Depot. It is booked to haul the Royal Duchy Charter train from Bristol Temple Meads to Par on Sunday 30 April 2023.

I might go out and see this tomorrow Tim but weather not supposed to be too good. I was under the impression Scotsman would be turned at Plymouth and then hauled to Par on the back of the train by a diesel, but I was told yesterday that the St Blazey turntable is back in use again. Watch this space! I'm sure the world ands his wife will be out to see it - I believe the station at Par will be closed off unless you have a valid travel ticket.

Quick internet search reveals the turntable is back in operational order - only by hand at present, but better than nothing!
