According to local radio, a Diamond bus caused havoc in the Kidderminster area by depositing leaking fuel on roads this morning, including outside the police station. It certainly seems that they do have maintenance problems in both Redditch and Kidderminster.

. . . . . . a Diamond bus caused havoc in the Kidderminster area by depositing leaking fuel on roads this morning.
I heard this mentioned on the two pm news, I think that the No 2 service was mentioned and it appears that the "leak" went on for miles as opposed to yards . . . . so much so that a "gritting" lorry loaded with sand had to be utilised to contain the "leak" !! :o So own up - who forgot to put the filler cap back on ??

According to the local news, the same bus has been at it again today! This time it took fire crews from Bewdley, Kidderminster and Stourport (which probably means the Environmental Protection Unit which is based there) to stem the flow and prevent the fuel entering water courses. A spokesman for Diamond said that both incidents have been caused by speed bumps.

This incident seems to get more and more bizarre. It's now reported that members of the public in Bewdley used incontinence pads to help mop up the spillage. In apologising and thanking them, a Diamond spokesman said that the company would help recompense them for their trouble. I guess a bulk order at the local pharmacy is now on the cards.

As a postscript to the fuel leakage story, there's a picture on Facebook showing said incontinence pads and, BX07 KPP, the offending vehicle.

PS Sorry - only just seen the picture above!

I see that speed bumps are to blame according to Diamond. Have there been some new one installed or changed on the 2 route recently to cause two incidents in one week?
