For the rare opportunity to see a Hybrid bus in Worcester (or indeed a bus carrying Preston fleetnames!) 30125 is on the 295 today. Currently on the 0930 ex Kidderminster.

If it is on there all day I may be able to get a photo later, but the shift I have today doesn't spend much time in Crowngate so I suspect I'll miss it.

Thanks Reece for your update, but can you clarify a couple of things for my DUFF brain : -
Can I assume that where you typed 07/01/2016, it should have been 2017 ?
(It's going to take ages for me to remember it's 2017 already !)

And, more importantly, - there appear to be 37 vehicles listed above for Kidderminster.
I thought that when KR was sold by First, there were only about 20 there (?)

- Has KR been allocated some of the Redditch work, or "Black Country" work ??
- and/or, is there a number of vehicles on the list that are in store and perhaps there for major repair work ?

Any info. would be welcome. ;)

As I was walking to Crowngate yesterday afternoon, Diamond's 30935 (ex-First 67646) stopped and offered me a lift, the driver being one of the few ex-First staff still with Diamond at Kidderminster depot. We had a chat about the good old days while he loaded passengers for the return journey but when it came time to depart, guess what... it wouldn't start!

He was still there 15-minutes later when I left for Tewkesbury, but had gone by the time I returned.

Yeah I meant 2017 lol

Yes the allocation has increased a lot since the sale of the depot by First the major one was when EYMS Whittle Bus closed back in Jan 2015. Diamond won the 7 and 192 and also they got the 831 back and a new school contract the 803. Then they won they won the 580. Then the 2 buses needed to operate the Droitwich Circular work were transferred from Redditch to Kidderminster. Then in April 2016 the X3 was sadly withdrawn and replaced with the 42 and 43 which both avoid the dual carriageway. The 43 was a direct replacement for the 143 which was up till that point run out of the Redditch depot with a few services also carrying onto Webbs as a 149. Both the 143 and 149 were withdrawn. Both the 42 and 43 are now run out of Kidderminster and 4 buses are needed.

Then on 25th July 2016 no less the 25 was introduced a service which is operated commercially by Diamond every hour between Kidderminster and Stourbridge this saw a Eclipse Volvo be allocated and route branded for the 25. Then in October 2016 Diamond won a number of additional Centro contracts in the West Midlands area. The two routes in question that are now run out of Kidderminster are the 267 Stourbridge - Wall Heath and the 657 Stourbridge - Kingswinford this needs 2 buses.
