Having just spent over an hour sat in a very dead (and hot) Diamond 42 this afternoon between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove (outside Parkgate Nurseries) I'm not best pleased with them (neither were the rest of the passengers........).

One of the things I HAVEN'T been made aware of via bus forums, and internet magazines like "Route One", is whether or not there is a shortage of competent mechanics/ engineers, in the bus industry ???

-- Do you know anything about this Winston ( Or anyone ) ??

I did come across this article from 2011 regarding wheel loss incidents & various causes:

http://www.transportengineer.org.uk/tra ... ives/34983

I suspect a lot of the younger mechanics / engineers that are employed within the bus industry these days are little more than fitters. A lot of the experience has either retired or left the industry, a bit like 'Mech26wr', I doubt many are capable of stripping down & re-building engineers. Most of the complex / specialist jobs are sub-contracted out these days....
