As of the 31st December 2017 Diamond has sadly lost the Droitwich contract this includes all Droitwich Circulars 17, 18, 19A, 19C, 20 also the 133 to Kidderminster and 354 to Redditch. This has all been won by LMS Travel of Worcester who will presumably start operating from 2nd January 2018.

That's very interesting, thanks Reece !
I'm interested to learn that LMS is still interested in bus work, but sad that First didn't get the work - - did they tender for it ??

For many years I've felt that there has been potential for extra, reliable buses between Droitwich estates and Worcester (not all via A38), but I don't know what the "real-world" potential is.

Does anyone know when the 294 and 303 contracts are up for renewal ?

The 303 is a commercial operation, so there isn’t a contract to be renewed.

A couple of years ago Diamond managed to get their name on Worcestershire County Council’s list of banned operators, so would not have been able to bid for this work. I spoke with a Diamond manager a few months ago and he told me the company was appealing this in the courts as they wanted to keep the Droitwich work... no idea how they got on. Anyone?

There were two contracts in Droitwich. One for the 19/22 group and another for the 20. I understand LMS have won the latter and Aston’s have the other. I also believe Diamond have kept the 133. First bid on all of these.

The 294/5 contract wasn’t offered, and I’m not sure when that is due.

The contract for the 145 was also up but has not been awarded as nobody bid below their maximum price. Expect that to come up again, probably with a reduced timetable.

Thanks very much Adam for all that info.

I've wondered for some time about whether Astons and LMS were "up for" any more bus work, - or whether they would let any go -

- now I know !

Slight correction... the 133 contract was not awarded, so Diamond will run it on an emergency basis (if they agree).

Below is a print out of who won what. I have removed the cost information as that may be considered confidential information. Cap being the highest price the Council are willing to pay, and Bid Price being the tender of the winning bid.

Bidder price type is either Cost or Subsidy... Cost is when the Council cover the full cost of running the service, they also set the fares and keep any revenue taken on the bus. Subsidy is where the Council part-funds the service and operator sets the fares and keeps the revenue to make up the rest.

Brilliant stuff , thanks Adam !

You haven't mentioned the first 3 contracts at the top of the chart -
- for the 145/A, 147/318, 182/183 -
the chart says "invalid bids" -

Does anyone know who will get these ?
