Borrowed or bought ??

Post by ANDREW » 14:56 Tuesday 3rd March 2020

Seen on the 150a earlier - E20D ,YX18KNW , which I believe is/was a Minstral rental bus. Still in all over white livery but with Johnsons legal lettering. :)

Just a quick "plug" for the available again "Busview" from Busdata which has the above vehicle as a loan vehicle with Johnsons in March. Anyone seen it in service since then ??

The website bustimes.org has it as last active with Johnsons on 28 March - see https://bustimes.org/operators/johnsons ... s/vehicles.

The website has the proviso that information is not always accurate, "e.g. when ticket machines/tracking equipment are moved between vehicles", but it is normally very relible, and I haven't seen YX18KNW since lockdown began.

In case anyone is interested, the three double deckers (Enviro 400MMCs SN65 OHZ/OJA/OJB) were taken off the road shortly after lockdown began, but they have all re-entered service in the past month. Bustimes.org indicates that they are normally used on the X20 Stratford - Solihull - Coventry.

Just checked on the gov.uk site and the bus is taxed up to August 2021 so It could be about somewhere. ;)

Yes, thanks "JT", -- There is the potential that one day one of their DDs could turn-up on the Worcester - Redditch service, but I don't think that's ever happened yet.

Also of interest is the inclusion of Coventry in the X20, - I shall have to study the timetables sometime !!

Sadly, DD's can't be used on the 150A route between Redditch and Worcester because of the low bridges and tunnel by Shrub Hill Station. Shame as it would be a nice ride on a decker.

I gather that "KNW" returned to dealers last summer and is now working for Caelloi of Pwlhelli . But a similar vehicle has been purchased - YX21RTZ - and , if Bus times tracker is correct , was on a school run to North Bromsgrove School this morning has has now moved on to the 150.

Johnsons have 3 "pre-owned" E200's in service , I assume as dealer loans , unless anyone knows otherwise.
