The X18

Some forum members may have already noticed that the Evesham and Stratford service has now been integrated into a longer service which includes Coventry - ie, as the X18.
On the Worcester News website today, is an advert/ link to Stagecoach which reveals a promotion for the X18 -
I really like this style of timetable and service promo., and I might check which workings are double-deckers.
I didn't realise that Coventry had such a big transport museum, and I would like to revisit the cathedral which impressed me when I was a "four-foot tall " child, and IT was brand new !

(I also wonder if there is potential for First to promote some X50 journeys - possibly retimed - to link-in ?)

A further update is that the advert/ link on the W.N. website has now disappeared - so perhaps it's "on rotation" :(

I think that the X18 is scheduled to be entirely double deck - Stratford depot received three Scania/Enviro 400s from Northampton when it was extended and doubled to half hourly in June - but I have heard that other vehicles can sometimes appear.

The Sunday service (numbered 18 - it follows a different route between Leamington and Warwick) includes the former 28 Sunday extension to Pershore, which I guess makes it the longest double deck service in the West Midland Traffic Area. The Sunday service is registered in three parts.

I spotted an X18 in Evesham today being worked by a Solo M950. Didn't quite manage to get the fleet number but I think it was one of the 4765x batch, which I was under the impression were all at Leamington Spa depot... or have some moved?

If the Solo you saw was still in Goldline livery but without fleetnames or branding, it was probably 47653.

The 4765x batch were at Leamington until they were replaced on service G1 by new 'Gold' Solo SRs last year. They were then moved to Stratford, but only 47653 is still formally allocated there. 47651/2/4 have been repainted in Stagecoach colours but are in Reserve, which means that they are still licensed and can be used in service if required.

It wasn't in Goldline livery, just normal Stagecoach colours.

47518 should be the unbranded gold solo, its allocated to Stratford too since the service changes, 47653 should be repainted.

I thought I'd take a look at what route the 18 took in Pershore this morning, but it was diverted because the normal town centre stops were blocked-off for the Pershore Plum festival.

It was a DD, but regrettably didn't pick up a single passenger, even though it's Bank Holiday Monday!

Thanks for the correction. 47518 is indeed the unbranded gold Solo, and 47653 is in Stagecoach livery.
