Hay Festival 2017
I am hoping that FMR will have the contract again this year,
and run DDs again ! (?)

Re: Hay Festival 2017
So am I as I very much enjoyed working that service last year. However, so far there is no news on the subject.
Re: Hay Festival 2017
Yesterday morning I called in the office and asked if First will be running the Hay-on-Wye buses this year. After considering their words carefully, they issued the following statement...
"Likely"

See the new Home Page.
Re: Hay Festival 2017
Can anyone think of someone who will be pleased by this news?
Re: Hay Festival 2017
I was expecting a post from him by now... Maybe he has passed out with excitement?
Re: Hay Festival 2017
Well there's me for a start !!
I've always wanted to do the scenic route between Bromyard and Worcester by DD !!
I even considered sponsoring one to the Bromyard Gala, - but I wont have to now !
I will use the occasion to celebrate my 50 years of being a DD nut (circa 1st July).
This X98 variant MIGHT only be on Sundays ? - we will soon know, when Adam posts a link to the timetables. (Thanks).
Re: Hay Festival 2017
X98 will run every day. The timetables I have are still provisional (hence not published yet) but they show one journey in each direction on each day. Departing Crowngate at 1050 Monday to Saturday, or 0750 on Sundays. Return journeys will be 1900 from Hay (or 1947 from Hereford Rail Station) on Monday to Saturday, and 1730/1818 on Sundays.
If you just want to ride the bus and not visit the festival, I would suggest catching the 1050 Service X98 from Crowngate to Hereford Rail Station, then there will be a 9-minute wait for the 1205 Service X99 back to Worcester. That way you can do both routes, Bromyard Downs and Fromes Hill... That's one hell of a circular!
Or catch the 1050 Service X98 all the way to Hay, spend two hours there having lunch and riding the vast selection of old Solo that will be running around the town, and then catch the 1500 Service X99 back to Worcester.
