Can anyone tell me why FMR is using some vehicles on the full B'ham+Worcester service that are NOT Euro 6 green volvos in Salt Road livery ? -- -- there are 12 of them !

Tonight, as I type, 47517 and 66699 are apparently being used.

Also, is there still a separate rota of drivers that only do the 144 ?

Thanks for any insight !!

I’ve so far seen the spare buses (64033/35) on the 144, quite a few streetlites but the plaxton centros are a new one for me. My guess for first not using the green volvos is that if they want to maintain the every 15min (from Worc to Bromsgrove) and the every 30min (from Worc to Birmingham) services, they’re are only just 12 green volvos (as you mentioned)for them to use from Worc to Brum and vice versa, I’ve also seen 1 or 2 of the Salt road buses on the ramp presumably for maintenance or just to rest them.

Most of the original drivers have either asked to be removed from the rota or have left the company.

Both a nimrod citaro and a spare bus on the 144/A this evening. What is the point of spending all the extra money on route specific refurbisment, marketing and special liveries if they don't keep to their routes!

Also First better get their act together before the Birmingham CAZ comes in otherwise they'll be getting fines!

I agree!

And when/if our StreetLite Max's depart for Leicester then we will only have 6 other Euro 6 vehicles left that could be used as Spare's/replacements for the 'Salt Road' buses. These are the 2 'Spare bus' Citaro's and the 4 StreetDeck's (with the latter normally needed on other routes such as the 44s or other peak time/school work!)

This could be problematic if there is a high number of Salt Road's Off The Road at any given time!

Minor detail but there are still two "none Salt Road" flag signs on Broad Street in Bromsgrove. :?

Now they over 18 month's in how are these refurbished buses firing up? 69436 was on evening 44"s Saturday and the smell of diesel in the saloon and blue smoke out the back was very noticeable.

That's worrying -- -- bus operators have got enough problems to cope with, without adding (more) technological ones !!
