Just seen a longer feature on Midlands Today, featuring 42894 on the 363 at Welland, with Tom Wells and a young passenger stating how important the bus service is. Also a longer interview with MD Nigel Eggleton stating the companies case. It appears that the 363 has received a 6 month partial reprieve, but only if passengers start to use it. As has been said before on this forum, First cannot use any profit from say the 35 service to subsidise other less patronised and profitable services. We will have to wait and see how many members of the public move over to buses.

So did the MD say that or was it Tom Wells? Quite a few puzzled looks here!

So, I’ve seen the news report now... www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0bg502k

This is clearly breaking news as nobody has told the depot yet!!

He’s in Crowngate at the moment so I’m on standby with a fire extinguisher...
I'd sooner chuck petrol on!

Couldn’t hear what he said as all the drivers in the canteen were shouting at the TV.
No surprise there

Just watched the report again at home on the big screen and realised the BBC have ripped off one of my photos! I've come to expect it from Facebook, but I would have thought the BBC would have more respect!

….. ... I've seen comments about how the withdrawal of an evening journey will impact on passenger numbers during the day. Yes, this is very true, but it's not that simple when you put numbers to it. Using the 17:50 Service 37 for an example, in April 2018 that journey carried an average of 5.9 passengers over the whole route each day. That clearly isn't enough to justify running the journey so it is withdrawn, and the harsh economic reality is that the company will save more money doing that than they will loose when those 5.9 people don't use the bus to travel in the other direction earlier in the day. Especially if some of those 5.9 people only make a short journey or use a free pass.

I would love to know how many people would be using these buses at around these times if CITIBUS had survived !!

IE - the Ombersley Road service (21 ?) was originally "MAXED" at every 10 mins during the day (according to my memory), but I don't know how frequent it was during the early evening. -- -- How many extra passengers would that "maxed" service (SAY 7AM -7-PM) have generated over the last 15 years ?? -- and would it now cover it's costs ?

I've been meaning to thank you, Adam, for your rapidly growing archive of historical timetables -- -- is there any chance you could add the original Citibus (21?) timetable ? :)

The earliest Citibus timetable I have is from late 1986 as the original ones were printed on small cards designed to fit into your wallet, and not many have survived. Even when they have, most just said “at frequent intervals” so don’t really give much away.

The recent additions the the timetable archive are all from June 1957 as I’m using the data to test a new feature... Preview (just remember not all timetables have been uploaded, so results are incomplete)

WOW ! - that Departure Summary + Links, is impressive Adam --

- "looks like" a blueprint for a new generation South Worcestershire / MIDLAND RED minibus network ! --

-- -- with CITIBUS in Worcester, and restrictions on car use at certain times
- with Worcester as the hub, and featuring all the latest techy stuff, and flexible service ideas, and supported by the 3 layers of government !

(Mercedes-Benz are bringing-out a new, fully-accessible version of their Sprinter with up to 38 seats, I believe) !! ;)
