Autumn 2018 service changes/cuts

Post by DD12 » 14:16 Monday 23rd July 2018

"Feels a bit early" (in this heatwave) to ask (but it's only 6 weeks until the autumn school term) -- does anyone know of any changes yet ?

Bearing in mind the extensive changes made last year, I'm not expecting many !
-- are the fifties to be revised/ reduced, has it been decided ?

The one-year funding for "the 50s" is due to run out. Waiting for WCC to decide the level of service they want, if any, before we know what will be running around the villages in the Pershore area.

There are other changes in the pipeline but it's too early for me to publish at this time.

So if you are having a Friday or Saturday evening out in Worcester don't plan on catching the bus home then (as per the rest of the week)! :(

Just been looking at a old MRW Citibus leaflet from 1992. Nearly all City routes had buses until 23:00 every day of the week. Also found a leaflet in my collection from 2003 with the 33N and 37N Fri and Sat night services. How things change over the years!

I understand from what Sarah East says that First await the County Council's decision on funding for the Pershore services. Doesn't look as though they've got long to make their minds up because under Service 32 it says 'Most journeys that previously showed route numbers 52, 53, 54, 332 & 333 will now operate as route 32 ' which gives the impression that most buses on those routes past St Peters or Baynhall are being withdrawn. I presume that is what we're looking at if the Council don't come up with the money.

The website only goes up to service 38 - what is happening to the rest of the services, are these to follow online?

Only the changes to City services are set in stone at this time. Other routes have been registered but the final timetable will depend on funding from WCC. As far as I know they have not come to a decision yet so First are unable to confirm the timetable yet.
