Adam - I was talking about the old days - when car drivers has some respect for other road users, even buses - and there were only about half the vehicles on the road compared with today - yes the really old days, the 1980s.

Obviously I'm too young to remember that, but it was still a 5-hour round trip when I used to drive it in the mid to late 1990s. Those are the old days for me!

I spoke too soon - the 144 Bromsgrove service now has amended timings. We now get 10 minutes in Bromsgrove Bus Station instead of just 2, and an extra 5 - 7 minutes between Bromsgrove and Droitwich in both directions. No more rushing around like a bat out of hell, more relaxed and a pleasure to do. Just a shame that they keep being dropped due to lack of drivers!

64033 was on the 1320 to Birmingham, and the 1820 one as well, I took it out on the first part of the card at 0630 empty to Catshill then back in service. There are 12 Salt Road vehicles, of which 9 are needed to run the 144/144A services, however, 6 were off the road this morning for servicing, so 64033, 64035 and a Streetdeck were used instead.

I saw a Streetdeck winding it's way through Catshill earlier on my return off a tip run to Quantry Lane. ;)

Local news report that the 144 is diverted away from Rock Hill in Bromsgrove and continues along the A38 at Puddlewharf Island as far as Charford Road then back on route. And the reverse for southbound services.

Open again now but with temp lights again so the 'Salt Road' should be back to it's normal route :|
