Summer Holidays

Talking to a member of staff from the Potteries today and he was telling me during the school Summer Holidays they will be using some of their spare capacity (the PVR always drops in school holidays) to run a few new Summer Excursion style of routes. Scania OmniCity 65026/7 will be "tarted up" (his words, not mine) are will be used to run to locations outside the normal operating area on selected days in the week during the holidays.

I was told the planned destinations for these routes, but I honestly can't remember where now :(

Wouldn't it be nice if Worcester did something similar... ;)

Time to get one of the CM6's off the patch outside and run some trips down the M5 / A30 to Cornwall for a day out. Oh, sorry, we (or more accurately our predecessors) bought the best one in August 1975..............Happy Days

They should be busy, anyone with any sense would jump at the chance to get out of Stoke

We could always go to Blackpool - I've lost count of the number of times that a passenger has said "Blackpole, I thought you said Blackpool"!!!!!

How about providing us with a "computer simulation" of a double-decker CM6T
please, Mr. 943KHA, or a coach version of a D10 ??

Tying-in with bmmoboy's suggestion of Blackpool -- I think the double-decker coach version of the Bristol VR (Ribble/Standerwick) had an almost BMMO look about them ! ( _ Sorry if that offends anyone !!)

- Are any preserved in roadworthy condition (anyone) ?

What about a day trip from the Worcester area to Alton Towers, then use the same vehicle to give the Stoke-onians a day trip to Worcester and Malvern ?

Has nobody noticed the little "wink" emoji at the end?

Well it’s good news and bad news for you... The good news is it will run up Bath Road past your house (well, one of them will), but the bad news is it will only be a single-deck bus.

I do use single-deckers as well -- for getting to and from country walks and country pubs -- but First Midland Red are running so many new and recent services currently, I've got a back-log of services to try !!

I've ridden the 06.50 X50 to Pershore, twice already this spring -- the views from the top deck have been very nice, (fresh greenery etc) although not everyone will like the (almost) ribbon, roadside development (in places).

For anyone interested, a DD is used only during college terms (and possibly in school terms also), and the same DD coming back from Evesham gets jam-packed, and some of the passengers don't like having the window vents open !!

(The single-decker X50 circa 09.30 from Pershore to Worcester, also gets jam-packed !
-- more DDs please -- including a new one for all-day use on the X50 ! :D )
