I'm thinking of heading to Worcester tomorrow. What routes are the deckers most likely to be on?
TOM, I forgot the Saturday RUGBY services !

I see on the tracker there are only 2 deckers in service at the moment, but the rugby service from Crowngate should start 13.00.
There is also the service from County Hall to the Sixways stadium.

I saw up to 8 DDs used for a popular match last season !!

If you are already in Worcester, I hope you've got a smart-phone so you can read this !!

I was driving 33403 this morning, and 32067 was also on the 30s. They will stay on this service all day. StreetDecks and the other Tridents were being used on Rugby today.

Ah, you mustve been my driver then!

There have been some pleasing changes since the schools went back on Monday.

There's been a DD on the 45 all day, and on the 16.10 X50 to Evesham.

I decided to use the latter today, and was very pleased that by the top of the London Road it was evident that a DD really was needed !
Some days it has also done the 18.15 X50 from Worcester, but first it has to get back down the London Road, and the regular queue of traffic makes that timing unrealistic !

This DD on the X50 makes-up somewhat for the "unreasonable decline" of the Hanley Castle 365, and maybe the company will consider making it an all-day feature (I've occasionally witnessed heavily laden single-deckers on daytime X50s).
:P

The latest service changes have also brought about some revised DD usage.

Wednesday and Thursday have seen a DD on the PM S50 for the first time.

(As it has done this duty by 15.30, I like the POTENTIAL of this vehicle being able to quickly cover for breakdowns of the S1, S3, S4, - along a route back to the BEO school, - but "real-world" considerations may make that a nonsense !!)

Also, some more of the X50 workings have been done by DD, -- in particular the 09.10 and the 14.10, from Crowngate -- -- I hope this is a permanent change !!

:)

Well the 09.10 only uses a DD occasionally, but the 14.10 is a regular that I look forward to using !

Today was the first use of a DD on the 51 to Pershore that I know of ( - the 07.45 from Crowngate), - followed by the short X50 back to Worcester.
(I hope this is a new regular !)

A surprise / oddity this Saturday afternoon, is the re-appearance of the X18 Rugby special serving Bromsgrove + Redditch -- -- it's shown on the tracker, complete with "GPS trace".

I haven't been aware of this service running for a long time ( - has it been ? - - it's not shown in First's timetable section !)

Presumably the other rugby services were also running (but they have not been shown on the tracker since they lost their route numbers) --

-- such strong gusts of wind today that I'm not sure I would have wanted to be on the top deck !!

According to the tracker, 32647 is here from the Potteries, AND has been used on a working (two services) that has always been single-decker til now !!

The GPS trace shows it on the 06.55 363 from Worcester to Upton + Ryall, and back, and then the S51.

This is such a surprise, I will have to check the depot to see it "in the metal", - - otherwise there's a risk that it's a single-decker with a ticket machine claiming to be 32647 !!

:o

..... well no sign of it at the depot, -- nor at Crowngate, -- and no further usage reported by the tracker ..... :?
