Feck !! -- I've just seen on the tracker that a DD (33404) has been used all afternoon on the 417 !!
I've been working-on the back of my house, including painting, ( - which I HATE doing), and there's no way I would have done, if I'd thought that particular DD trip was going to be available !
I thought there was NO chance of it ever happening again, as I recently saw two single-deckers sharing the load of seasonal workers, -- one of which was on a contract basis.

MIDLAND RED never bought low-height double-deckers, and the norm was ( - and is) 14' 6", but our Tridents are 13' 10", which helps a little bit, - through the trees !

I’m told 33404 is to be repaint sometime soon before departing for Essex. You may have missed your last chance there.

Thanks for the warning about the repaint Adam, - I have suffered having my favourite DDs (33401-5) looking scruffy for a long time, and then, when we are just about to lose them, to have any of them repainted will be like rubbing salt in the wound !!

33404 has been a regular on the 32 recently, and has looked splendid in the September sun !

( - The others have been in Barbie livery for 15 years !)

Yes, spotted it two days in a row while driving home from work. Still puts a smile on my face.

It needs to survive a few more weeks to make it’s fifth anniversary in that livery.

The latest service changes have dealt a blow to my OTT enthusiasm for DDs --
most of them have been removed from my local service 32.

More importantly, the 365 that serves Hanley Castle School, has gone down to a single-decker.
The morning S23 has gone down from two single-deckers to one, and I believe there have been no DDs going up the London Road during the AM peak, to the Sixth Form college.

All this implies to me a significant reduction (and downward trend) in "customers" that should be "almost captive" or guaranteed -- IE - scholars and students !!

On Monday, all eleven DDs were in service by 07.30, which is new to me, ( - but this may have been introduced before the new T-Ts ) -- IE - before four of them going onto the S1-S4.
The catch with that was demonstrated this morning with a DD arriving at Crowngate
24 minutes late before doing the S3, which therefore was equally late arriving at the school.
Also, as reported in another thread, someone decided to try and run the 37 with just one bus (a DD) which isn't working, and this afternoon resulted in a 32, and the 32S being 24 mins late.

I hope these problems will be sorted ASAP, as I don't want First to lose any DD work, and ASTONS could easily take the S1- S5 !

I'm pleased to see First are using a DD on the afternoon S5, and some late afternoon 45s !!

Have noticed that the 0630 144 Bromsgrove-Worcester is now a DD.Before the timetable change it was a Streelite and before that it used to be a Solo possibly the only booked 144 work for a Solo?

32067 was on it today,Looking on the tracker it then did S1 then the afternoon S2 and then 144 to Marlbrook.

32066 did the 0630 144 on Thursday then the S1 then onto the 37 and 32/S until late afternoon.

I'm thinking of heading to Worcester tomorrow. What routes are the deckers most likely to be on?

As it's the first Saturday of the new timetables there are no guarantees, but they're very likely to be on the 30 and 44, and possibly some 144As.

They will definitely be on the 30, they only seem to use them on the 30 when they are not needed, and not when they are
