Do we know if they have WiFi and USB/Plugs fitted?
In the "Comments" section attached to a photo of 69435 on the Home Page, Adam has told us that there are USB sockets in the seat-backs,

- but whether that means they will have fully-functioning WiFi when they enter service I don't know -

Can anyone confirm that the WiFi facility works properly on WR's StretDecks and StreetLite Maxs please ?

69435 is now half-dressed :o

Also had a look inside, but the light wasn’t really helpful for photos. I am told this style of moquette has been designed specifically for this project and is therefore unique.

Is that a full-width destination screen at the back ?? - (I'll be most impressed if it is !!)
Wouldn't it be great if that glossy green could stay like that ! -
I've often thought that there's a market gap for paint protection treatment for buses.
The moquette/cloth seat coverings look like they are already seven years old in that photo, but I shall reserve my judgment for a couple of years !!

The light was terrible when I took the photo (on my phone) so the picture has been lightened with photoshop and now looks a bit washed-out. They look better in person.

I will also add that the quality of Thornton's work is very good, inside and out. I was about to add that it could almost be a brand new bus but then I remembered what the StreetLites are like inside, so I'll say it's better than a brand new bus!

Yes it is. They have just finished programming it, ready to enter service tomorrow morning. They are white LEDs too, not the usual yellow ones.

69435 entered service today. It was used on the 12:00 to Birmingham and probably at other times too.

Meanwhile I went over to Leicester to collect 69436 and bring it back to Worcester. This is the first time I've driven one of the Eclipse Urban 2 vehicles and I'm please to say they are just as good as the older version. The engineers set about working on 69436 as soon as I got back, and by the time I finished work it already had the "half-dressed" on the sides and back plus fleet numbers etc. The destinations blinds were done and progress was being made in fitting the electrics for the ticket machine.

Photos are now in the main website library.

As someone brought up in Worcestershire, I was always led to believe that all "proper" buses were red. True in Malvern, there was the occasional sight of Bristol 'blue' (never could quite work that one out!) green buses but they looked very drab and uninspiring compared to the local fleet.

However, these 144 green buses look stunning and I can't wait to see one on the road. Not only does it highlight their green credentials but in Birmingham they will stand out from everything else. Congratulations to all concerned.

"BYM" on the 12.16 from Bromsgrove to Brum today , followed by "BYN" on the 12.46. 8-) The white destination displays look bright even in daylight. :)
