Breakdown(s)

Post by DD12 » 18:12 Tuesday 4th July 2017

44511 was broken down again this evening at St.Peters - a nice new service van in attendance.
It's a long time since I've seen any breakdowns, and I think none have been reported recently on here, despite the recent heatwave.

I'm very pleased that all the older DDs appear to have much improved reliability over the last 12 months, including 33043 which is a regular on the 32 (school-times).

44511 has been a bit of a problem child of late. It let me down on Friday with a hydrologic fluid leak, and although I wasn't at work on Saturday I understand it had a few problems then too.

As an aside does anyone have a list of the service support fleet?

A couple of photographs of the new support van. The first I took on Friday 30th June while the engineers investigated the problem with 44511 mentioned above, the second was on Sunday 4th June while delivering a working ticket machine to 33405 during the Hay Festival.

This is about it for the engineering fleet these days. With only one depot there is only need for one vehicle!

Not quite a breakdown, today circa mid-day, was 67662 - "laid-up" at the top of the Bath Road ( - a popular spot for bus breakdowns !)
In attendance was a Dawson Tyres service van -
I cannot remember having ever seen an "in-service fail" caused by tyres, before ! (?) :o

I saw that too. It's very rare that we get a flat on the road.

Probably 53207 heading to Worcester from Potteries. Needs an engine swap.
