Spotted, A Long Way From Home

Post by AdamH » 19:59 Sunday 23rd August 2020

I was up in the Peak District today and on my way home on the M42 near Tamworth, I saw a StreetDeck with Worcester branding heading the other way.

No idea what a Worcester StreetDeck was doing so far north, heading north on a Sunday afternoon, but I'm guessing it must have been destined for one of the newly acquired sister depots in South Yorkshire... Unless anyone knows otherwise.

A friend at Worcester depot has suggested it may have been working a Birmingham to Tamworth Rail Replacement contract...

Just checked belately , on RTT for yesterday at "New Street" and buses were indeed running to Tamworth [and Wolverhampton] . ECS from the depot at Barton Under Needwood was running via the CrossCity Line and buses were allowed 40 minutes to get to Tamworth , is that a realistic time ??

I'm glad to see that all 4 StreetDecks are still at WR today if the bustimes tracker is to be believed -- 3 are on the 44, and 35156 is in the garage where it has been since c.19th May.

I'm also very pleased that WR is still getting some extra DD work !!

I never did get to check, - before the pandemic - to see if 20611 / 12 were being used on the S55 (?)

I think that they were, but not being on the School rota anymore, I cannot positively confirm this.
