WR's Coach Usage

Post by DD12 » 10:04 Sunday 1st December 2019

https://bustimes.org/vehicles/194638

Yesterday, the tracker showed 20611 on the 910 service from 10 AM. ( - complete with "GPS traces").
Did anyone see this please? -- -- unfortunately I was unable to walk down to Crowngate to view the special workings etc.

BMMO boy thinks that it's use on rail replacement is more likely (which is a reasonable assumption).

Also, I would like to know more about their regular usage, Mon - Fri during school terms.
I've seen one leaving the depot in time to "do" afternoon school work, but with nothing on the destination display.
-- I assume that one coach is still used on the S55 (a service for pass-holders only, that isn't shown on the tracker) ???

(I also assume that the S45 -- to the same school -- is still operated by a single-decker bus, - rather than a coach ?? -- -- again, it isn't shown on the tracker).

Does anyone know if 20611/12 are used on any SCHOOL work other than the S55, please
??
Thanks.

Could it be that 37158 which was being used on the 910 but did not show up on bustimes could have been showing up as 20611?

Maybe 37158 had a defective ticket machine and a spare one was being used & programmed as 20611...

Just a theory... :?

Yes, thanks Will, - if you are sure 37158 was also in use, then I think that's a strong possibility, and very interesting !!

Annoyingly, today there are NO vehicles used on the 910, that are shown on the tracker, and again I couldn't get out + about to have a look !!

Yes, I was slightly confused by that, considering all the Saturday 910’s seemed to show up.
And yes I saw a picture of 37158 on the 910 on Saturday. ;)

An interesting development this afternoon is the use of 20612 on the S50, and as this has been recorded by the bus tracker, it implies (to me) that 20611/12 are fitted with fares collection equipment, at least some of the time.

It looks as though it may become a common sight to see the coaches used on various school journeys as after yesterdays occurrence, today 20611 was used on both the Am & Pm journeys on the S5 today (If correct)

I guess that as both coaches are wheelchair accessible it means they are open to being used on a wider range of services!
Also, it would appear that 3 DDs were not used in service today (32067, 33401 & 35157) so perhaps the coaches are covering for this, quite suitable really considering they wear the "spare bus" colours.

My GUESS is that these two coaches are only being used this way until the end of the month, when the Salt Road service will shed a couple of buzzes (??)
