How about this for a new paint scheme?
(It's taken from the new Badgerline livery}
The colours would be red and cream from the 1980's livery

66698 came back from the paint shop yesterday and 66695 has gone away. Only 66699 left to do.

For reasons unknow, these are being fitted with a mix of fleet number styles... 66696 has the new style (same as 66692-66694) but 66691 and 66697 both have the old style large numbers as used when they had Barbie livery. 66698 hasn’t been fitted yet, so take your bets!

66698 is now on the road with the larger style of fleet numbers.

I've been thinking the paintwork of the latest repaints (of the Volvo / Centros) looks a bit cheap + cheerful, -- but you may all disagree about that; - and when the paint is "fully cured" it may well look perfectly ok ( - especially when fleet names etc have been fitted).

Ironically, one - at least - of the earlier Thorntons repaints ( - 66694 I think) has got bubbling -- corrosion or something, coming through the paint at the top of the side panels, -- NOT something I would expect from Thorntons !

(Whinge, moan, bitch :D )

An area repaired after accident damage?

THIS is better !
With the introduction of local liveries and brands by First, some from yesterday, I'd love to see Midland Red or Midland Red West back! But that's me being all nostalgic and probably old fashioned. But Midland Red is still such a famous name which shouldn't be consigned to the history books IMO.

66699 has now gone away for paint, so I assume 66695 has returned but I haven't seen it. When 66699 returns that will be the whole batch finished.
