FMR Fleet Movements

Post by AdamH » 19:37 Thursday 21st July 2016

It's about time we started a thread for general fleet movements...

This is what we know to be happening in time for the service changes in September.

It has already been mentioned elsewhere on the forum that two of the three ex-London Tridents will be heading to Cornwall soon (Topic Link).

Also in the pipeline will be another Enviro300 heading to First Potteries. This will be 67642 (VX54MRY).

Finally withdrawn coach 20201 (T701JLD) is looking like it will get fixed and will be put back on the road (Topic Link).

It was in a bad accident while in service at Redditch in 2006 and stored in the body shop at Worcester for almost 3 years before going back to Alexander-Dennis to get its chassis sorted out. Hence it has much lower miles on the clock than all the others and is probably the best one.

That's odd ! ( ... or is it me :D )
I had already thought that vehicle numbers had reduced more than expected since the April changes, and now that two of the DDs are going in September, I would have expected two single-deckers to be acquired from somewhere
- instead we are losing one ! :?

Now you may have to ensure you're already sitting down whilst you read this as I am about to make a criticism of what are otherwise outright my favourite vehicles in the fleet, however 67642 is my least favourite of the 'standard' Enviro300's and I won't be particularly solemn to see its departure.

Its always felt somewhat 'off' to me, likely as a consequence of its aforementioned misfortune, and can boast a plethora of electrical malfunctions.

Oh, and its failure on me back in January certainly didn't help its standing...

Still, can't PMT have either 67665 or 67699 instead and leave my beloved Enviro's alone? They even come painted in Urban2.

According to someone on wmbusphotos, 67642 is now at Adderley Green.

I believe it has indeed now gone, although I didn't notice!

It was in service at Worcester on Monday and I think it was taken to Stoke either after the end of service, or on Tuesday morning.
