Ah yes, it's been back on the road for a few days now but I completely forgot to report back. Sorry!

I haven't had a chance to drive it yet, my fingers are crossed the engine mounts have been done... :?

Well I was going to report that I've now driven 44511 and that it went well but still made a lot of noise. However, as I parked the bus up at the end of my shift I spotted 44511 coming out of the wash and the penny dropped that I'd been driving 44514 for the previous 4 hours!!

Clearly I need to pay more attention

Had 44511 this afternoon - they have done an excellent job and it is a pleasure to drive.

Thanks Chris, yes it does go quite well now and yes I changed all the engine mountings whilst it was apart. E200's are very hard on engine mountings. The 300's use exactly the same ones and some of ours are still original but 200 mounts only seem to last for 6 months then they are shot.

I drove 44511 yesterday for the first time since the rebuild. The first thing I noticed was how quiet it was... I could hear what the passengers were saying! A huge improvment.

I ran the evening Service 420 in it, and it flew up the Downs so there was no long queue of cars a trucks in the mirror that you get if you use 44515.

I think we need to get "Red Midland" to blow up the other two now!

Adam, 44514 is now as smooth as 44511. I changed all the engine mounts on it last night. Only 2 of the 3 were broken 😃.
44515 is sat with no gearbox in at the moment, that too has a set of shot engine mounts that we are hoping to do before the box goes back in.
