With the arrival of the Citaros, I’m told all the Enviro300s are now “out of service”...

*cough* Santa Bus! 😒

That is booked in at 14:00 today to have the Santa lights fitted, so it may not be quite as withdrawn as Head Office think!

How odd, just been out on a driving lesson and I saw 67699 out ‘in service’ can’t remember which route though 😂
Maybe it’s just the other 3 (urban 2) E300’s that are out of service if there are still only 3 citaro’s out...

I would imagine one or more of the 3 Citaros that are “on the road” has broken down again, and they don’t have anything else big enough!

Broken down again?

I thought these buses had been refurbished, was it just bodywork and interior refurbishment that Thornton's were responsible for?

I realise they are almost 16 years old but what faults do they have? I know you mentioned difficulty in starting after being stood for any length of time.

Also with so many of these buses which are 'new' to Worcester Padmore Street, has any additional training been given to the maintenance staff, or are they learning as they go by trial and error and previous experience with other manufacturers buses? I think I know the answer to the last question.

Refurbishment was only cosmetic. Even so, I think the mechanics are still fairly sound on them, but just like every Mercedes Citaro ever made they are riddled with electrical gremlins. I think they are being restricted to city routes now!

The very last thing that Worcester's bus service needs is unreliable vehicles !

- I hope that ALL the Merc. Citaros acquired have a GOOD reliability record -- otherwise how could they be justified ??

(I would GUESS that having been out of use for several months might allow some components to deteriorate at, at least the same rate as they would have done in service ?
-- -- Also, this is the time of year when I turn-on electric light bulbs in my house, and they "go bang" !! )

I hope that this doesn't mean that 64033/5 can't be used on the 'Salt Road' services as they are intended as spares for the route...

Confirmed by engineers this morning... 67652, 67659 and 67663 have all now gone to Stoke without saying goodbye!

I noticed that they have now left the fleet list and it feels like a part of me has died, they where a big part of my childhood as I always used to catch them to malvern with my mom, and now they are gone, it’s quite sad
