Is the washer at the depot broke? All the buses seem really dirty at the moment

I travelled on the top deck of a StreetDeck yesterday, and the people at the front couldn't see how far they had got :D

At this time of year, it might only take 8 hours for a single-decker to get that dirty (?)
Reading your post Marck, has made me wonder how long it takes to get our 70(+) buses through the wash (?)

I can GUESS at two problems; - one is the number of buses arriving back at the depot between 6PM and 8PM say, (at one point in a previous year they were queuing all the way back to the entrance of Padmore Street),

and, maybe certain vehicles need to be parked in certain positions on the "patch", ready to leave first in the morning ??
(There's not much spare space there).

Often if the temperature is too low washes cannot operate. Ours at Yeomans is certainly like that - not only would the wash itself freeze up, the water any vehicles using it spread around risks becoming ice.

Yes, the bus wash is broken. Parts are on order I'm told.

Meanwhile, we have a new bus wash. His name is Kieran and his job for tonight is to wash buses by hand. As you can see, Kieran is not very tall so don't expect the upper-decks to be spotless anytime soon.

As for getting dirty... I took over 67657 today for the 11:55 to Tewkesbury. It was dirty but not too bad. I used it for 2x trips to Tewkesbury, 1x to Eckington, and 1x to the Hospital. By the time I finished it was impossible to see out of the side and rear windows. Midland Black!

Hello Kieran!

I never envy anyone who has to wash buses by hand, so good luck!

Bus wash has been broken for about 3 weeks now. The guys are doing their best by hand with a pressure washer but it's not easy. Their efforts are not appreciated by some drivers....
