I wonder how many users of that route under pension age know who Elgar was? :twisted:

Having just zoomed-in on the photo, I see that this batch of Mercs are "air-conditioned", ( - IE more than just the drivers cab), and that FMR is "extolling" this virtue on the exterior.

(Does this mean that FMR are going to maintain it and fix it every time it breaks ?? :D )
-- I like the fact that the one in the photo (at least) appears to have opening window vents near the back.

I think it's very ironic that the green Volvos have had to have their air-conditioning removed ( - I believe), - presumably as a necessity for conversion to Euro 6.
- ironic when considering that the long, "Salt Road" service could justify and benefit from air-conditioning !

ALSO, is each of the batch to feature a different work by Elgar ?

It might prove a little controversial when it comes to these wonderfully penned compositions!;

Do we know which bus this will displace yet? (I presume it will be either an Enviro or a Solo) And also does anyone know what fleet number the pictured Mercedes is? :) I wonder what will happen to the Streetlites as 5 out of the 8 are normally used on the 35?

What's the bet that despite route branding, it will be 'off route' a fair few times like the Salt Road ones....and previous route branded buses... :lol:

We are losing 4 Streetlites to Leicester shortly, so my guess is that the Mercedes will displace these first.

Oh ok, thanks bmmoboy! :D Sorry to ask another question but do you know if they will be from the the ‘64 plate’ or ‘65 plate’ batch?

I was informed that they would be StreetLites not StreetMax, so it will be the older 64 plate batch
