FMR Mercedes Citaro acquisitions

Post by willr7 » 15:47 Thursday 21st June 2018

I see Adam, that the Mercedes' have been added to the fleet list and are shown as in 'store' Does this mean that are actually at the depot or are they still elsewhere or some at Thorntons. :?:

Also I've noticed that the number has increased again with now 13 Mercedes rather than 12! ;)

They are at Thorntons waiting for refurb work to start. And yes, they seem to have found an extra one from somewhere. This will mean one Dart will be displaced.

Thanks Adam! That’s a shame as I rather like the darts, I hope they don’t get rid of the fuschia fronted one... Also, I know you have probably answered this before but could you remind me of which vehicles other being displaced for the other 12? I remember you mentioning something about the solos but I can’t remember what...

Most of the Solos, all of the E300s and one Dart. I agree with you about the Darts and I’ll be sorry to see it go. The list of disposals I have been given says it will be 42892, but that same list also has the title “The plan as it stands at the moment” which would imply none of this is set in stone yet.

Thanks Adam. It seems a bit odd that 7 of these are actually older than the solo’s/Enviro’s. It’s a shame they are not all the slightly younger ones instead so they all match... Sounds a bit silly I know

As the heritage Enviro will be replaced, how bout having one of the Mercedes in the heritage livery? ;) (However, I don’t think it would suit one of these buses myself)
