Be fair - they've been totally flogged up and down the M4 daily for last x weeks without failure and I doubt they got much love in Bristol. I'd be more disappointed by the etched seats and windows and general tiredness inside. At least they're only on loan and soon will be back to being Leicester's problem!

I glimpsed in the distance a First DD yesterday morning along Staple Flat, a narrow lane in Bromsgrove between the Old Birmingham Road and Linehouse Lane (in places itself a narrowish road which leads to Barnt Green). I assume it was on rail replacement either lost or trying to find a shortcut along roads not wide enough and/or with plenty of low trees.
I didn't see any more in the immediate area but not sure which route they are meant to take.
With accidents on the M5 and M42 yesterday, the local media was reporting that it was taking the RR buses up to an hour or more to travel between Bromsgrove and Longbridge (or was it Barnt Green?) due to congestion in and around Bromsgrove. The passengers interviewed sounded not too happy either with the time of the journey or the frequency. I suspect some will be finding their own alternative from now on.

Just been talking to our drivers about it. They were mostly able to depart on time thanks to generous recovery times between trips, but journeys were very slow.
I guess it doesn't help that it was our bus involved in the crash that closed the motorway!

Saw two of the late evening workings last night , one was 35191 the other one of our own d/d's. Do the terms of the hire of the Leicester buses limit them to the rail jobs only ?? Or could they be used to cover on regular stage workings ??

Can be used on anything but I don't think they will be.
I'm at Adderley Green at the moment, just collecting 37158.

Tim Brown was at Bromsgrove Rail Station yesterday taking photos. He has emailed me to say he's having problems uploading these to the forum so I have added them to the main website library.
The easiest way to find them is to look at "Latest Photographs" near the bottom of the main website Home Page.

I'm using 35191 tonight and the ticket machine is still running a First Bristol program so it's unlikely to get used on anything else. However, it has a Worcester destination program so we can pretend to do 144 on the way home!
