Well I'm sat in Bromsgrove waiting to drive my last train to Barnt Green. This one should have started at Droitwich at 1905 but on my previous trip from Droitwich the train was late so the station staff held me for 25-minutes and the Stand-By covered a trip for me. I think he was glad to get some work as he'd been parked for 4-hours with nothing to do.

37158 decided not to start at one point this morning, but otherwise all has been good.

Believe it or not, in my 22-years at Worcester today is my first ever rail replacement. It's not bad. I may do another one day!

Interesting afternoon in Worcester -
- as well as the rail contract, and the Johnsons coaches, there were two WR StreetDecks on the S1-4 group, and one on the cross-city 32 (school-time) !

I "strongly approve" of that, as at least two of the DDs used on the S1-4 can then carry the "hordes" down from the Sixth form college, and then the peak PM passengers from Crowngate to Malvern.

Also this evening - the Worcester Warriors rugby specials !

With the Victorian Fayre approaching, I think First aught to be considering at least two more NEW, RELIABLE DDs for Worcester !
( ... and for the 144 ) ....

How about it Mr.Eggleton ? ... - two new DDs in my Xmas Stocking ! ? :D

(also, with all the new housing planned around Kempsey and Norton, an extra DD or two might be needed for Hanley Castle and Pershore schools).

One of the Leicester StreetDecks ran from Longbridge (20:55 depart) to Bromsgrove last night on Rail Replacement, then dead to the Rugby Club to operate a return Rugby service to Worcester (21:50 depart). Slight oversight by the planners as the loan buses don't have ticket machines so the fans had a free ride!

All four Leicester loan buses are heading home Monday in convoy. Worcester drivers have the job as the Leicester drivers went home last night. A pool car will be waiting in Leicester to bring the drivers back. Not sure how long the Potteries loan bus is with us... Maybe until 67651 is finished being painted so they can do a simple swap.

The rail contract finished at about 11:00 this morning and all five loan vehicles have now returned to their home depots.

33039 survived for a short while after the end of the Rail Contract mostly due to 32067 and 33404 both being off the road, but now both of those are fixed and back on the road 33039 has been de-licenced, SORN and withdrawn again.
