Tony Hunter's latest First Group fleet changes to 4th April have as follows:

64012 Southampton - Worcester
64033; 64042; 64043 Slough - Worcester

Could the additional 6 be 52 plate examples from Southampton as per 64012?

Yes.
Are the 52 plate examples also being given a freshen up / light refurb? As they're getting on a bit.

Not sure. The last I heard - which was several weeks ago now - they were looking to keep all 12 of the type together at one depot for obvious parts and training logistics. Because Worcester need to keep their mid-size Enviro200s and Darts for the Herefordshire Contracts there was talk of sending all 12 to Stoke, and Worcesrter having some Envro300s back. I believe that plan has been dropped now, but I don't know what will be going from Worcester (other than the 6 Solos) in their place, or what they will be used for.

Yes.
These (64012-19 batch) appear to have Northern Irish re-registrations, and were new in early 2003.
That would mean the acquisition of 15 year old buses for Worcester, which would be interesting !

Even more interesting would be IF these six (say) are given a refit at Thorntons (?)

IF First know that these vehicles are mechanically and structurally-sound and likely to give 7 more years trouble-free service, then the cost would be justified (I'd say), but will the engine emissions be clean enough for likely forthcoming controls in Worcester ?

IF it is possible to upgrade them to Euro6 (emissions control) that would be very interesting, but presumably very expensive - -
- does Mercedes/ Daimler offer an upgrade package ?

As Worcester and Worcestershire have NOT appeared on any lists as having won any of the government grants for bus engine emission upgrades, can anyone tell me if the Euro6 engine upgrades done to the 12 green Volvos for the Birmingham service have received a share of the grant money that I ASSUME has been won by the West Midlands ??

Any "feed-back" on the above would be much appreciated; - Thanks.

Stuck behind one of the green Volvos tonight in my car -- in very slow moving traffic --
it was very pleasant to see NO emissions, and smell NO smells, coming from the back of it !

- Six months ago, I expect that would not have been the case --
- something like eight times less noxious diesel nasties now, compared to Euro 5 (I believe ?)
- - Little bits of progress -- very good :)

Why are we getting 6 of the 2002 reg Mercedes, they are older than Worcester's solo's which are old enough!? :?
