69454

Post by bmmoboy » 20:33 Friday 24th June 2022

69454 (WX59 BZH) has returned from the paintshop and is in similar colours to the Platinum Jubilee bus, except the centre is white, not silver. It is awaiting logos and will probably be ready in the middle of next week.

The first of many.

Does this mean it's got the sparkling metallic front and rear paint, or it just the same "purply" front / white / blue rear as many in the fleet, please ?

(And will she still be called Epona ? )

The front is the same, but the back is a deeper shade than previous repaints.

The PVR for the 144 is 7 (I think)… so why they are re-painting at least 6 of the salt Road batch I do not know!

So, are there now 6 of the batch that have lost their Salt Road decoration (including 69454)
??
I think it's a great shame that any are losing the green livery --
I don't normally care too much about what a single-decker looks like, but I think the green livery, with bright white on black destination screens. front and back. looks great !!
:( :( :(

Yes, I believe 69453-60 are the 6 that have lost the 'Salt Road' branding and temporarily wear the "i'll be repainted soon" message...

Is the Catshill to Bromsgrove section carrying sufficient passengers to justify the current frequencies? If not, the 144 might only run between Worcester and Bromsgrove in the coming months, which might explain the excessive number of green 'Salt Road' buses earmarked for repainting into corporate livery.
