Buses in Droitwich 6 & 7 December 2017.

Post by TimBrown » 19:28 Thursday 7th December 2017

Took a few photographs in a rather gloomy Droitwich this week including Diamond Darts on town services and First Worcester buses working 144 and 144A routes. Missed a shot of the Green Volvos but had a ride back to Worcester on 69435 which was tastefully refurbished internally. The bus pulled strongly so the Euro 6 conversion doesn't seem to have sapped any power, the auto gear changes were made at medium revs with none of the screaming of Enviro 300 or the StreetLite/StreetDeck trying to get into top gear at walking pace with all the low frequency vibration that causes! On the open road the Volvo went into a high gear ratio and gave a relaxed cruise at the legal limit; seemed ideal for a long stage carriage route like the 144.

I keep meaning to have a ride on the 355 but still haven't got around to it. Last time i went on the route it was still the 22.

Worth a trip 'all round the houses', but be prepared for a vibro-massage ride when the Plaxton Primo exceeds 30 MPH on the open road!
