Apparently Bromsgrove now has an "on demand" bus service - https://cbwmagazine.com/new-on-demand-p ... romsgrove/

Anybody know any details?

I've searched online but not found any sign that it has actually started yet.

Bromsgrove Standard sheds a little more light:

£250,000 of council money for an electric powered bus linking the train station to the town and beyond by request but still a bit sketchy on details

Not sure if there is any connection [ no pun ] to the electric bus but a new electric charging point has been installed on the old part of Bromsgrove railway station car park. :P :P

Not sure if it'll be anything like this but a very good video about on-demand buses in Sevenoaks by Geoff Marshall who does some very good videos by the way :D Mostly railway related but does a few bus ones too.

I was meeting up with some friends in Birmingham one evening last week and needing a bit of flexibility I opted for the train rather than the 144.It's about a 35 minute brisk walk from mine to the station so thought I'd give the on demand bus a try especially as the journey would be free :D

Downloading and opening the app was simple enough and was ready to book a journey within minutes.Having put in a pick up location a destination it offered me a journey in 25 minutes time I didn't book it but resubmitted it less than a minute later and said it would be 20 minutes with an arrival time the same as the previous.I didn't book that journey either but more or less straight away requested the same journey again and it was 15 minutes time.At this point I decided to 'take the offer' (it was feeling bit like deal or no deal at this stage  )

Once booked it showed the reg and location of the bus,as it happened it was at the railway station and looked like it was dropping somebody enroute to me as it went via The Guild pub/Travel Inn.As I got on the bus the driver said we'd be picking up one other which was slightly off route for my journey but the destination was on the main road to the station so not too much of an inconvenience.

Overall I was impressed with it and am sure I'll use it again in the future.
