I meant to go out to catch that but forgot it was on. Any idea why it went down to Gloucester to reverse?
The general thought this morning was that one of the Class 47's was left at Gloucester, but I cannot confirm this!

Re: Freights at Ashchurch

Nice one Tim. Thank goodness for modern tech, you can get info on workings you would otherwise never have known were running! Here are some photos of the cavalcade of preserved locomotives and heritage stock from Severn Valley Railway to Hotchley Hill (East Leake) passing through Worcester Shrub Hi...

7029 'Clun Castle' at Shrub Hill 18 May 2019.

Tyseley's immaculately presented 7029 'Clun Castle' at Worcester Shrub Hill this morning working The Cotswold Explorer from Birmingham Moor Street to Oxford via Cheltenham and Swindon. It is booked to return this evening via Evesham. The driver of this engine made an excellent start and accelerated ...

Re: Citaro woes.

Had a trip on one of the 2002 OIG registered Citaros at lunchtime yesterday and noticed that the seat backs are held on by no less than twelve Phillips head screws plus washers. Earlier in the week on another Citaro I noticed one of the screws sticking out and turned it back in by hand as far as wa...

Here are some taken at Fernhill Heath at teatime yesterday; Ex GOBLIN Gospel Oak to Barking 172003 recently transferred to West Midlands Railway to work locally. Bus construction - good and bad.

I had a trip over to Kidderminster Hospital for some treatment on Monday 13 May 2019. The Diamond bus from New Inn on the 303 was an ex Wessex Scania which rode well and delivered its power smoothly and seemed effortless. It had a few rattles but not too bad. I then caught the R & B 291 up to th...

Re: 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' at Hereford 29 April 2019

Good pics, as always. They were certainly powerful locos although there is a video on YouTube of 6233 on the same train at the weekend struggling and almost coming to a stop on Hemerdon Bank in Devon. Not the first time locos from other regions find the going difficult on GWR routes. Here is link t...

Re: 'Streak' 60009 'Union of South Africa' at Shrub Hill Sat 25 Aug 2018

Tim have I read somewhere that 60009 is now going to be available for use for another year? I think that is correct, a local enthusiast reckoned it has been passed fit for the rest of the year; more comebacks than Tiger Woods and Frank Sinatra! Enjoy seeing it in steam though, and any chance to see...

Re: Freights at Ashchurch

Thanks for posting these lineside Ashchurch shots, always amazed at the speed of the Tesco train 1,500 tons at 75 MPH creating its own wind from the slipstream. Surprising that details of the nuclear waste trains are available on line with Realtimes trains and actual passing times on its journey to ...

Re: Price of single fare tickets on First bus Worcester services

I now know that the Day Return fare between Lower Wick and Malvern Link (Co-op) is £6.50, IE:- it's the County Day ticket; and the single fare is £4.40 !! Even though I'm "far from skint", £6.50 discourages me from making the LONGER return trip between Crowngate and Malvern Link Top, so I...
