Re: Disabled and pensioner concessionary passes under threat
I think Adam's got a good point here but I am not sure that you could persuade enough to pay to make a significant difference. There is a feeling amongst people of my age group that they have paid their taxes over the years to enjoy a few concessions in their declining years. I have to admit that, a...

Re: Disrupted services
It seems the bus industry is in crisis with passenger numbers falling, reduced subsidies leading to cuts and/or higher fares and not being able to attract sufficient staff to maintain services even at their present levels. The wages offered are clearly inadequate to attract staff, particularly in ti...

My wife's family hail from the Forest and to hear the way they used to talk about it, you'd think it was a foreign country. Even the rest of Glouces...

Re: New Coaches On Order
Along with 500 others on ten coaches, I attended the launch of Johnsons new holiday brochure at the National Memorial Arboretum yesterday. During the presentation, director John Johnson revealed that two new coaches had been ordered for delivery next April. He didn't say what make but the recent in...

Re: Random Photos from the Back of the Shed
Many thanks for the pure nostalgia in this terrific selection of unusual photos. Sad to see the condition of some of the bits and pieces but at least they have survived and, who knows, one day they might just come in useful!

Had lunch today in the new wine bar opposite the Bromsgrove Waitrose car park. Good old PEZ must have passed half a dozen times on its way to and from Charford.

Re: FMR Mercedes Citaro acquisitions
Could it have been The Opposite Lock in Gas Street Basin just off Broad St., Birmingham? That sounds familiar, but I am going back over forty years - saw ELO which was a revelation at the time; rock and roll plus strings. Yes, my era too, I'm afraid. Saw Bev Bevan from ELO and The Move on stage at ...
