Re: Double deck rest day.

6015 will be having a new lower deck floor covering (Treadmaster), the floor itself is fine thanks to the good work done at WR (it was tad bit soft in places, polite word for 'rotten'). Treadmaster isn't cheap as we have just found out with 5767 but Father Christmas left a good donation in the chimn...

Re: 6015

Now back safely at its spiritual home, a few things to sort out ( the odd coolant leak or two), drove nicely, a few stares from intending 144 passengers along the way. A big thank you to all at First Worcester, especially Pasty who's already missing it and to all the sponsors. Hard to think that thi...

Re: Spotted: Wythall Land Rover broken down

It had been to a Land Rover event at Gaydon for the weekend (including towing a 'stricken' LD8 around the arena a few times!), behaved perfectly but on the way home the relatively new fuel pump died. Recovered back to Wythall by 6.45pm and is in the sick bay awaiting delivery of a new pump (tried th...

Re: 6015

WR's novel method of stopping oil leaks, park the bus upside down, hope it doesn't scratch the roof! Glad the doors are now sorted.........

Re: 6015

When 6015 arrived at the Museum in 03/85 compared to Fleetlines from other operators that we were buying straight out of service it was not in a good state, bodily and mechanically; it had a hard life towards the end of its service life with Midland Red East extracting every last bit of life out of ...

Re: Help Needed... Transport Museum and Birmingham CAZ

Of course you may ask! As the Trustee behind the petition and the many discussions with BCC CAZ people, I'm sad to say that they would not consider any furthering of the present limited number of exemptions. We had great support from FBHVC on this and of course from the many people who petitioned bo...

Re: Twilight Running Day Pt I at Wythall 25 Oct.2020

It is a matter of interest that if you go underneath 3744 (as I often do..) the chassis is the same as S8's onwards at the rear end with the extension 'kit' as per S8's etc simply bolted on, i.e. not a bespoke chassis for S12's only. In terms of similarity of window pans etc I must admit I hadn't ma...

Re: D9 5415 calls in Crowngate 11 April 2010.

Yes, rather remarkable that two ...415D's survive! Regarding 6015 the plan is (with First's help) that it will be tested to Class VI standard. Given that it still has a current CoIF since it had a valid CoF on 1/4/81 (it did cost me £23 to get a copy off my good friends at DVSA) then at least there ...
